Instructions

  5. Immediately remove the thickened pudding from the heat. Stir in the butter, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined. Pour the pudding through a fine mesh strainer into a heat-safe vessel to ensure a perfectly smooth consistency. Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the pudding to prevent a skin from forming. Chill thoroughly in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, until firm.
